Mitsubishi Electric Europe B.V. acquires a 51% stake in Medcom sp. z o.o.

Mitsubishi Electric is a global leader in manufacturing and selling electrical and electronic equipment and systems across a broad range of sectors, including public utility systems, energy systems, defence and space systems, factory automation systems, automotive equipment, building systems, air conditioning systems and home products, digital innovations, and semiconductors and devices. Mitsubishi Electric Europe B.V. is the main European sales company of the group, whereas Mitsubishi Electric Corporation is its Japanese parent company.

Medcom sp. z o.o. is a Polish company active in the design, manufacture, installation and servicing of modern power electronics, primarily for electric traction requirements, other industrial applications (e.g. power engineering), and for defence systems.

Thanks to the acquisition Mitsubishi Electric intends to consolidate the foundations of its global transport operations, with a particular focus on Europe, using Medcom’s high-performance power electronics. The aim is to expand the group’s operations not only in the transport sector, but also across a broad range of infrastructure-related sectors.

Our legal assistance covered the negotiation and drafting of transaction documentation, legal due diligence of Medcom sp. z o.o., and support on signing. Transaction closing remains subject to the necessary regulatory approvals. As a result of the transaction, Mitsubishi Electric will hold 100% of the shares in the Polish company.
