EDP Renováveis repurchases minority stake in wind farm portfolio

Wardyński & Partners, in cooperation with the Portuguese law firm Morais Leitão, has advised EDP and its subsidiary EDP Renováveis on Polish aspects of the international transaction of repurchase of a 49% stake in EDPR’s wind energy assets in Portugal, Poland and Italy (for a total of EUR 570 million) from subsidiaries of China Three Gorges. EDPR now holds the second-largest portfolio of wind energy operations in Poland, with a capacity of 747 MW.

The work of the team, overseen by partner Dr Kinga Ziemnicka, involved lawyers from the firm’s M&A practice (Wiktor Zborowski and Monika Lutomirska), Energy practice (partner Igor Hanas and Marek Dolatowski (principal counsel), and Competition practice (partner Dr Antoni Bolecki, with Andrzej Madała, Marcin Kulesza and Weronika Nalbert).
