Competition for the best master’s thesis

Winners named in contest for best master’s thesis on competition or IP law, organised by Wardyński & Partners.

The prize committee (Dr Antoni Bolecki, Dr Monika A. Górska, Dr Damian Flisak, Dr Marcin Kulesza, Anna Pompe and Włodzimierz Szoszuk) decided to recognise two people:

  • Julia Smogór, for her work “Securing, disclosure or turning over of evidence in intellectual property cases under Polish and German law: A comparative analysis”
  • Kamil Weber, for his work “Disclosure of evidence as part of private enforcement of competition law, in light of EU jurisprudence.”

The committee considered such factors as the importance of the topic for legal theory or practice, the usefulness of the work for interpretation of the law, and the possibility of applying the conclusions in practice.

The winners were announced on 19 March 2026 during the conference Regulation of Markets in Defence of Democratic Principles. The contest was open to master’s theses written in Polish or English and successfully defended with a mark of at least “very good” no earlier than 2023.
