Legal Hackathon 2021

Ahead of us is the next edition of the marathon when lawyers and programmers join forces to tackle legal tech challenges with the support of project managers, analysts and marketers. Once again our law firm will be a partner for the event. This year the Legal Hackathon will be held in cyberspace, on 18–20 June.

Judgment for buyer of GetBack bonds in dispute with Idea Bank

Litigation

On 31 May 2021 a judgment was issued by the Nowy Sącz Regional Court in favour of our client, awarding a refund of amounts paid for bonds of GetBack SA acquired via Idea Bank SA.

Lagercrantz Group and CWL Group

Transactions

Lagercrantz Group has acquired CWL Group AB, with subsidiaries in Sweden, Norway and Poland. In conjunction with the Vinge law firm, we advised on acquisition of the Polish subsidiary CW Lundberg sp. z o.o.

Blogger from Mosina ultimately cleared

Pro bono

The Supreme Court of Poland has upheld the judgment of the Poznań Court of Appeal acquitting the “blogger from Mosina” of criminal libel. The case was reopened based on a ruling by the European Court of Human Rights. The Supreme Court judgment is legally final.

AddLife and Polymed Polska

Transactions

We have advised AddLife AB in its indirect acquisition of Polymed Polska sp. z o.o., a distributor of medical devices with applications in ophthalmology, laryngology, neurosurgery, plastic surgery and dental surgery. The Polish company was acquired as part of the acquisition by AddLife AB of shares in Vision Ophthalmology Group for EUR 165 million.

Wardyński & Partners advises on financial restructuring of AccorInvest Group and Orbis

Advice

Wardyński & Partners, acting as Polish counsel, together with Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP (as lead counsel), advised the members of an ad hoc committee of lenders on the financial restructuring of AccorInvest Group, including Orbis S.A., in the total amount of EUR 4.5 billion.

Brose and Volkswagen

Transactions

Wardyński & Partners is advising the German group Brose in a planned joint venture with Volkswagen to establish a key global system supplier for vehicle seats and interior concepts.
