In principle: Legal studies and analyses, no. 1/2022

The sixth issue of our semiannual scholarly journal In principle: Legal studies and analyses is now out, with 130 pages, 11 authors, and 9 articles (including an interview). We invite you to read it.

This issue includes several items on criminal law, including articles on counsel for witnesses in criminal proceedings and on the offence of insulting the head of state (although, as the author argues, this notion is now an anachronism). This area is rounded out by a discussion of recent resolutions by the Supreme Court of Poland involving banking offences.

We also delve into tax issues, this time in the context of the sale of real estate, along with proposed tax incentives for protection of landmarks. We also recommend an interview with Prof. Gertruda Uścińska, president of Poland’s Social Insurance Institution, pointing to the benefits of automation and electronisation of social insurance processes, among other issues.

Our pages are also graced by an interesting voice from Lithuania on the need for codification of construction regulations, following the announcement of work in this area by the Lithuanian government.

As usual, we also publish comments on current rulings from the courts, including a resolution by an expanded panel of judges of the Supreme Court of Poland on damages for care provided to an injured party by family members.
