Fundamental Rights of the EU and Procedural Standards, 10–11 September 2018, Riga
Aleksandra Stępniewska from the business crime practice, together with Prof. Adam Łazowski from the University of Westminster, will conduct a course organised for Latvian judges by the Court Administration of Latvia in cooperation with the Academy of European Law (ERA).
Participants will be provided with knowledge on the system of protection of fundamental rights in the European Union, including detailed aspects of procedural standards. The presentations will cover not only legal acts but also the relevant case law of the Court of Justice of the EU and the European Court of Human Rights.
On the second day of the course, Aleksandra Stępniewska will discuss topics including the right to a fair trial, the presumption of innocence, and the right to a defence.
