Firm consults on draft KNF recommendations on insurance distribution

We advised the Association of Financial Companies in Poland during public consultations on the draft KNF recommendations for insurers regarding insurance distribution.

The Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF) has proposed 30 recommendations on insurance distribution, across 10 thematic areas. The initial round of consultations covered 43 recommendations, but after receiving comments from the market KNF revised its proposal.

The recommendations concern such issues as the construction of distributed insurance products in terms of their value for customers, as well as insurers’ cooperation with agents and brokers. The recommendations will affect all insurance companies operating in Poland, including insurers from other EU countries operating here under the freedom of establishment and the freedom to provide services.

Our law firm took part in both rounds of consultations. The lawyers involved in the project were Mateusz Kosiorowski, Daniel Smarduch, Anna Szczęsna, Klaudiusz Mikołajczyk and Agnieszka Kubowicz.
