Wardyński & Partners assisted Toshiba TEC Corporation in its transaction with IBM

Upon completion of the transaction, Toshiba TEC is to become the world''s primary retail point-of-sale systems provider, offering hardware, software and integrated in-store solutions.

Wardyński & Partners assisted Japan’s leading manufacturer of point-of-sale systems and related technology for retailers (Toshiba TEC Corporation) in a global transaction to acquire the Retail Store Solutions (RSS) business from a leading U.S. technology and consulting corporation (IBM).

Upon completion of the transaction, Toshiba TEC is to become the world''s primary retail point-of-sale systems provider, offering hardware, software and integrated in-store solutions.

The aggregate value of the transaction is approximately USD 850 million.

In relation to Poland, the transaction completed in the last quarter of 2012 encompassed, in particular, establishment of a Polish company (Toshiba Global Commercial Solutions (Poland), sp. z o.o.) that was directly involved in acquiring RSS assets in Poland.
